1. Technology will transform every aspect of society.
2. Web 2.0 is the growing collection of new and emberging web-based tools.
3. As technology changes the skills we teach changes.

1. Students are technologically advanced, therefore the way teacher's deliver instruction should engage them in the same way.
2. Use technology to differentiate instruction.
3. In order for students to synthesize information, technology should not only be provided but lessons should combined with technology.

1. Open source resources are available for anyone to use on the web.
2. Three of the most commonly used Web 2.0 tools are blogs, podcasts, and wikis.
3. Web 2.0 tools are used for a variety of reasons.

  • Assumes: that all teachers, administrators, parents, and students understand and are aware of copyright laws.
  • Agree: importance of educating students on what constitutes stealing
  • Argue: with only teachers needing to help students use the internet appropriately. Parents need to have knowledge of safe internet use and help their children.
  • Aspire: to get students their own access to technology at home

  • Argue: that all students can use technology successfully
  • Aspire: to assist students to the best of our ability with technology

  • Assumptions: that the world of technology will continue to be integrated into society as well as education
  • Agree: we agree that applications should be open sourced; that text and applications should be available on-line
  • Argue: the availability of hardware to all students both in and out of the classroom
  • Aspire: we want to find a way to enable all learners in and out of the classroom with technology so that all information can be web based
